Kirk, thanks for the tips. I have tracked down a Magma 40-65 mould that's claimed to drop at 0.410. Somewhere around I have an outside neck trimmer and I can turn a pilot for it if I need it. I have to form 40-65 from 45-70 as none of the UK suppliers ever have Starline 40-65 brass in stock. Perry O...

Missed this thread yesterday as I was busy stripping and cleaning my 4-digit serial number 1886 and putting back the original sights. My 1887 vintage 1886 has that hole and it is shown in the exploded view drawing that I have - it appears to be there to provide clearance for the mainspring strain screw. If the screw is backed out, as it is on mine, the lever will not close completely.

Olympus Master, version 2.3 is claimed to run under Windows 7. You can download it from the Olympus web site.
When installing Windows 7 on an XP computer it's as well to install it as a dual-boot so you can go back to XP if you run into compatibility issues.

Re: Final loads for my old '73 (photos)
Very interesting. Your load, with the same 13.5 grains of 2400 is 200 fps slower. If you bump up your 2400 load a bit to get 1,300 fps, your groups may tighten up due to the higher pressure doing a better job of bumping up the bullet (assuming it is a soft cast bullet). How were the 5744 groups and...
