Doc,
I'll look for metal shavings in there. The holes are factory holes - rifle made in the 1970s...
I did cycle the rifle effortlessly a few hundred times - put the sight on then the lockup. Removed the sight but still locked up - I know it does not make sense.

OT: Request assistance on 336 Lockup - Solved
I have a 336T that I have not fired. I've cycled the action a few hundred times and installed a Williams FP on it. I'm by no means an expert nor a gunsmith but I thought surely I could install a sight. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/jj155/BCinTN/Marlin336T019-1.jpg During installation of the rec...

I've owned a Surefire for 5 or 6 years now; it is a top quality tool. I'd hate to be without it.

Re: Curious, going rate Browning 92/357mag
Outrageous? Not really. I wouldn't consider $1200 outrageous here in Middle TN - but the rifle would have to be LNIB - (original box with owner's manual). The .357s LNIB are not often found. I understand the .357s were only made from 1982 through 1987. I notice that there seems to be a little less a...

Another B92 Question
Hobie mentioned in another B92 post about a reciever sight for a B92. I looked at a FP 94/36 Reciever sight which Brownell's indicates will fit the B92. I called Brownell's and the tech I talked with stated he was not sure, but thought some D&T had to be done. I'd appreciate it if someone can cl...

Re: Insurance rifles
Joe, you wrote, "keeping in mind insurance will only pay for new guns " I hate to hear of your losses & particuarly how you ended up short on your firearms. I've had similar losses. Is your insurance company policy to only pay for new guns as you indicated? This makes me want to call m...

Yes sir, that is a large deer! If all is porportional, it appears the bow is about 6' long and the arrows just a bit less than 4' (and they both could be).

Re: Price ckeck on a Marlin 39-A"Mountie".......??? UPDATED
Boreman, Mounties seem to be in high demand, are sought after, and appropriately priced. I've been looking for one in excellent condition and I expect to have to give upwards of $600 for a rifle that sold for ~$69.00 forty or fifty years ago. I believe you've found yourself a bargain - shoot a tube ...

For a little more than 1650 you can get the real thing.

Requesting Advice on 22 WMR
Gentlemen, I've decided to purchase a .22 WMR and have done a considerable amount of reading, reviewing and pondering. I'm looking for pre-safety / no safety and am certainly inclined toward a levergun. Most readily available seems to be the Winchester 9422, both modern and back through the 1970s er...

Hearing Protection
Guys - I'm in need of a couple of pair of hearing protectors; my old sets are just worn out and I really noticed this recently while shooting. Seems the foam is beginning to deteroriate. I'm interested in what forum members would recommend - what you've bought lately in hearing protection and if you...
