the farriers i dealt with all had a portable stand that had a base (usually a small car rim) with a shaft that came up to about knee height that they used to prop the horses hooves on. for all round I'm in agreement with Rangerider 7 concerning Ariats......and thery have all styles from lacers and packers to traditional CB boots with vibram soles.. Luchese for dress boots.

one of my favorite cartridges. I have a vintage 1900 TD winchester and a 1920 SRC and have fared really well at some SASS long range lever matches with both. If it's good enough for six gun and kirk thats all I need.

u can look closely at screw holes. the edges should be sharp, not dished out like will ofter happen if significant buffing is required.

you can googke smith enterprise sights.....Dillon usd to carry them. Also just saw one of the new Miroku Winchesters and it came with a replica of the ladder sights that winchester used and prolly already milled for a metric dovetail.

how about a smith enterprise ladder sight for rear dovetail on barrel. Once you get windage right then you have all the elevation adjustment you need, and no damage to your rifle.....just a thought.

I have a pr of 18" Boulets That I bought in 1995 at Mule-Camp (SE Regional) and they are a hartd boot to beat for the money. I'd also recommend durango boots. they have a tall 1880s look boot available with walking heel, and I bought my son a pr of 14s for about $125.00.

with those grips you got a REAL GOOD deal by local standards. I've seen grips like that go for

I have 6 of those sights, and 4 are currently mounted on both Marlins and Winchester/Uberti copies and on some of them I had the same problem but with my limited gunsmithing/machinist skills I found it easier to just change front sights. Am

Thanks Kirk, you should've seen the looks I got when I rolled up to the firing line at a local cowboy match with that 73, alternating between the '87 and a grade 3 1889 Remington double barrel. Can't shoot a lick but really racked up the style points.

the fit and finish on the Uberti guns is really nice and either Cimarron or Taylor's and Co should have what you want. I've had bunches of Cimarron guns and always had good service with them, give Chris or Robert a call and see what they have.

I actually traded one of my 3 uberti 73s, a 30" deluxe, fire blue model and little less than a grand boot.......this is a good investment, although if the right deal comes around for a 24" 73 rifle or and original hi-wall in the right caliber comes along then it may have to go. The 30"...

We busted and shot thru several old dics a couple of weeks ago with cast bullets in 45 Colt, 250 gr at about 800fps....if you can find some disc from back in the 50's or 60s they will hold up awhile with cast bullets, but you'll be punching holes with modern jacketed ammo of any type with disc.........
