Re: Interesting article on Winchester 94
I am a big proponent of the Win 94 and open sights, I collect them, shoot them and have hunted with them since I killed a spike blacktail buck with my dad when I was 11 years old. I enjoyed the article, pretty comprehensive, had not read that one, thanks. The difficulty is that at my age 70, my eyes...

Re: Weight loss on a 300 H&H Hornady 180 gr. (BC Moose Hunt)
That Hornady bullet was a 180 gr. InterBond boatail,
and Hornady says it will not fragment even through bone.
Wrong, it lost more than 33% of it's weight and fragmented.
What say you ?

Still waiting to hear exactly what hornady bullet that was, will get that information for you in the next day or two. Thanks for your info. I think my one thought is that maybe 180gr. might be light for such a heavy animal, and especially if that bullet does not hold together well.

Weight loss on a 300 H&H Hornady 180 gr. (BC Moose Hunt)
My buddy recovered his bullet from his large bull moose after he got home and cut up the meat. He made a high shot breaking it's back and it went down immediately and died quickly, job done. I was surprised to find after weighing the bullet that it was only 117.5 grs. with part of it broken off. Sho...

Took my good friend Jim Crumrine with me to BC, hunted with guide Chris Condie of Windy Mountain Outfitters in the Caribou district. Leaving next week to do moose hunting in BC. I know they have had a warm dry summer
like we have had here in Oregon. They have had some cooling and showers however.
Will the rut be later as a result of a dry summer? Anyone with experience on this issue?

Last year in BC I noticed my guide wore surgical gloves when skinning the animals we killed
in the field. What would they be protecting themselves from ? I have skinned animals my
