If you can find a H&R 20ga . Youth ..thats hard to beat...I think they have a 22 in. barrel and a slightly shorter LOP
00 Buck and your ready ..or 4 shot ..
I used to have the same set up ..but with a 18.5 in barrel..as one of my walking guns....good for aggressive wild dogs and yotes

Re: Spire point bullet in 30-30
130 gr Speer is the lightest bullet I've tried one of my Marlins...
The 130gr Speer has a high BC and is a very tuff bullet...
With 37 gr.s of BL-C(2) you can push this streamed lined baby to 2450 FPS

Yeah...but the prices of used are sooooo...close to the price of a new one....they hold there value ....A 336 in 35 Rem. is always a good choice ..properly handloaded ..right on the heels of a 356 Win. and right there with the 375 win. when loaded to equal or close to equal pressures.. + you have a ...

but that 250 Savage is a great round...In my Savage 110 it seemed to handle White Tails in the same fashion of my Sporterized Swede in 6.5X55..
