336 30-30 project gun

Post by Buckeye »

336 pre-safety in 30-30.Wild West lever ..Synth. stocks.. Wild West peep .. long eye Bushnell relief scope......

I picked this up as a project gun...I'm really undecided on its future...
1. May sell
2. May keep
3. may shorten barrel
4. may rebore
5. may trade
6. May do a combo of 2, 3, 4.
7. May combo 1 & 5

Seems like this gun has alot of potential...in alot of ways...

I would change the lever. load around 3000rnds of ammo and take that sucker out in any weather and not worry a bit about rain, snow, mud. or nuthin. Great Truck Gun.

OK, now I normally do not like pistol gripped Marlin lever guns but that stock has possibilities. The comb is not to high and pointed so I'll bet I could shoot it without getting my cheek bashed to bruises. And the slim forearm looks great.

That said, I'd ditch that dorky lever and the scout scope, make sure it's sighted in with the irons and then I'd go have some fun.

Why can't I find project guns like that when I have money???

+1 I could live with the lever, but that scope would have to go. IMO, I think the scout setup is one of the ugliest things a person can do to a rifle, but that's just me....

While i like "slightly" larger levers.....that one's the Rosie O'Donnell sized one. Way too big.

I could live with the scope mount.
