fixed by a knowledgable wood worker he put the butt in a vice put a wedge in to spread the crack in the reciever area heated the wood, mixed epoxy, heated same poured it in the crack while forcing it in with his air compressor. sure beats $599 for a synthetic stock. it's hardly noticable. if you wan...

better than styrofoam, would be to ship the gun with the stock removed to be replaced when it arrives, i stoped at cabelas and picked up their alpha series 3 t0 12 scope for 74 bucks on sale from about 150 it's very clear for a cheap scope and has the bdc reticle, so i've got something to play with ...

osok your post is what made me look closer, what i first thought was a crease turned out to be a curse. the right side is also chipped off and was stuck in the action when i pried the stock off. as for the synthetic, i paid less for the rifle, talk about sticker shock, i almost wet my pants. thanks ...

well i just picked up a used 1895gs and lo and behold the stock is cracked severly at the tang. marlin isn't interested in my problem so i'm wondering does anybody make a synthetic stock for the guide guns? it seems the most practicle way to go.

mine is 9.2 grains of blue dot with a 180 grain gas checked ww from a lee six hole mold that i got over at cast boolits,it tore the shoulder and lungs of a nice seven pointer.

sorry about the pics,it was a 25 yard shot more or less,the mold is a lee six cavity that i got over at cast boolits in a group buy last year.he was walking at me and offered me his right shoulder,it wasn't the shot i'd have prefered,but it was all i had.it looks like the boolit went through the lun...

i shot thirty rounds off this afternoon,and they chrono'd consistently around 1450 fps with no signs of excessive pressure.shooting offhand at fifty yards they were grouping well enough for me to want to use them for deer.

the main thing you must do is shut off the main power switch failure to do that may electrocute some poor soul working on the line.in my state it's against the law to run a gen.without a seperate switch punishable by a 10 k fine according to the electrician that removed over 500 from my savings acct.

i don't know where i read it,but using the 125 gr bulet with a hot load may cause severe cutting in the chamber of your firearm it might be worth your time to look into it.

mine was made in the 80's and will shoot three shots into an inch at 100 yds from a cold bbl. from the box but most 06 s will do that imho it just takes tlime to find out what load that particular rifle likes.
