Yes it is a repro .It is a custom made piece made by Rick Hanson of a gun that never really existed.I bought for deer hunting as it a really handy gun in the woods.It has a swivel ramrod and a bobby Hoyt custom barrel and I thoughta 1855 lock would look better on it

My alternative to the ar7 is my springfield m6 scout ,a handy solid little gun in 22/410.TPS arms now makes a new version of the scout with some improvements

I paid $800 canadian for it.It does have a little finish wear from carrying but not much so it s been hunted with but has had an easy life I believe.I agree on the repros Miroku would do a good job but I would stay away from a chiappa etc.

I had a Rossi 62a couple of years ago but had problems with cartridge extraction ,even after replacing the extractor too bad too because I really liked the gun

I just picked up a nice winchester 62 in real good condition .It was made in 1947 and has all the features of a winchester 62A (coil main spring ,long forend etc) with the exception of the barrel it is marked winchester 62 not 62a.I can t wait to take it out for some fun .

Ya passed on the tryol, condition just wasn t there.It had a crack at the tang and the stock is otherwise just too beat up for the value the owner put on it.Had the gun been pristine I would be shooting it right now.
