New NOE Mould

Post by High Desert Hunter »

Since Swede Nelson announced he's retiring, I used his 30% off plus my 10% off for being a $1K customer over the years to purchase one last mould. Was looking for a general purpose 45 Caliber bullet, so I ordered the .454 255gr SWC offering. First time I've ever been disappointed, mould casts fine, bullets look good, but they are 10 grains underweight with my standard alloy that is usually pretty close to spot on with Swede's moulds. We'll see how they shoot from the Flattop and the Cowboy Carbine, may see if I can get them to feed in my SA 1911.

Do you have a link to his website (assuming he has one)?

They make a nice mold, but I prefer Accurate or Arsenal myself.

I have way too many moulds, Accurate makes a good mould, although I haven't dealt with the new owner yet, MP is another fine mould maker, I have an accurate mould for my 32-20, great caster, but did have to go back to clean up the machining, I really miss Mountain Moulds! I have one LBT mould, first class, for my Sharps I have a Steve Brooks mould, it is a work of art. Lyman is the only one I really no longer trust.
