Re: Price Check: Ruger Mini 14
If the barrel gets thicker towards the gas block then it is a 500 series serial number which means it is the better Mini-14. Ruger redid tho tooling on the Mini-14 a while back which included a heavier barrel which addressed the barrel whipping issue as it heated up. This in turn improved its accura...

I wouldn't say my Rossi was all gunked up, but I would say they were a little heavy on their factory grease / lube and I took it down to just removing the bolt. Cleaned it up and then used some gun oil on it.Old Savage wrote:Never have seen one with gunk but I would degunk it without taking it apart.

why do you want a scope for that rifle? I doubt you will have a effective range much past 125 yards with it. I don't like the look of red dots on a levergun, personally. I think a simple, modest scope would work best for you, just make sure it has the proper eye relief to be mounted forward on the ...

The ammo on a SKS stripper clip would be for fast reloads, but more for throwing more ammo into a pack or pouch and know that it isn't going to go all over the place in it. This would work better at having some fast to get ammo right on the rifle. http://www.thewilderness.com/images/products/preview...
