Re: One powder for reloading.

I keep a range of 7 to 8 types of powder, as I shoot for accuracy. Looking at what I reload for, IMR4064 would be a very versatile powder for me in all of my rifles, from 22-250 upto 45-70. Unique is another powder I would not be without. It works for pistol, rifle, cast and jacket alike. If I were ...

It seems I have developed a sensitivity to powder or/and the smoke from a fired round. This started about 6 years ago. 405grn Remington bullet+wlrp+34.5grn of IMR4198. 1886TD 2000 issue winchester/Miroku.
Same loads works equally well for lead bullets of same weight. Although low-moderate velocity, very accurate for me, and comfortable to shoot.

Remove the wood from the rifle, and sand down existing finish with 600grit wet/dy paper. Take the wood to a car body/paint shop, and have them spray it with a 2 pack urethane clearcoat, but first add some flatting agent to the clear.

Old Time Hunter, You dont have a problem. The crimp and cannelure are both doing their job. If you want to get the best possible crimp, anneal the casemouth, and add a standard crimp. If your brass has become work hardened, a harder crimp can actually cause less grip on the bullet. This is because t...

You could rebarrel and chamber a big bore receiver to many cartridges based on the 308 winchester. Maybe a 243, 260, 7mm etc etc, but the limiting factor would be cartridge overall length, and suitability of bullets for any of these calibers. I have built a 22-250rimmed based on the 307 case.
