I should have said that no taller front sights have been needed with my
Williams,Lyman or Marbles sights. The OI/XS and the Skinner sights are taller and you may need a taller front to work with them. :)

I agree, Taller should not be needed. I have not had to replace any of mine due to not being able to zero with standard ammo. :wink:

All of the major makers are loading good ammo these days. Competition is fierce and bullets and components are better than ever.
I try several different brands and shoot the one that is most accurate if using factory ammo. :wink:

I never modify the Dovetail in the barrel itself but centerpunch or peen the sight slot blank if loose. :wink:

It should have came with an operator manual. I would stick with their recomendations.
Don`t hold your off hand foreward of the cylinder when you shoot it. You could have bad burns and lead under the skin! :wink:

Cowboy, that is not uncommon and happens often if the gun is not made in US. The ORH sight is one that people seem to love or hate. I dont hate them but think they are not nearly as usefull as a receiver or tang mounted peep. They hide too much of the field of view IMHO. :wink:

More like target/varmint shooting. Notice that they don`t show the wounded ones running away to never be seen again.
A light 5-7 mph wind will drift that bullet 10 ft at those extreme ranges.

Silver melts at 1763.2 deg.F . That is beond bright red in steel .
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silver To get the mold to fill out it would have to be near that temp I believe. :)

Cast a wax bullet in your mold and use it to make an investment mold out of plaster. Or find a local jewelry shop that does investment casting and have them do it with your wax bullets. I used to do that in the hobby shop in Germany. I made a Silver grass hopper that was microscopic in detail. :D

The .308 MX does have a rim. It looks rimless in photos but the rim is larger in dia. than the body of the case and fits the same shell holder as the .30-30 .
