This is the rifle that Wilfred Brimley used in the movie Crossfire Trail to shoot the bad guy out of the church steeple. Beside it is a fine Bagwell Bowie.

I watched Rob shoot this buck with a 4 inch .44 mag at about 35 yds. A spectacular one shot, drop in the tracks kill.

Bill Bagwell agreed to test bullets and took this cull buck in the rump and the bullet traversed the deer in a straight line. You could have run a ramrod through it!

I tried to step on this one to cut his head off with a knife, but he was pretty strong and got pretty mad so I shot him through the head with Kate:

My gear for the hunt:

Now, of 8 hunters, 7 got shots at good 10 points or better with a spread outside the ears. There was also an aoudad and several Javelina taken.

It's a 6" 454 but Shawn's load is a 260gr Keith at around 1400 fps and loaded in 45 Colt cases. I shot the buck with a 240 XTP loaded over 18.5gr 2400 in the 4" 44 Mag...probably barely running 1200 fps but I need to chrono it. Here are the bullets...the XTP was from my buck, the cast bullet was from Shawn's...the 10pt I believe.

Excellent choriograph(sp) of events. Congratulations guys. Good job Scott. I have to ask though, why didn't you use your sidearm (I don't know what it is) to dispatch the buzz worm?

Thanks for sharing Scott. Looks like a great time was had by all (judging by all the smiles!). Even your vehicles are neat (I liked the Jeep, even if it was "wounded").
