I live 45 minutes east of Clare in Bay City......there was as I recall a Northgate (or something similar sounding) gun shop up in Oscoda but it closed when the air base was shut down.

I think any guild quality gunsmith could do it. It is a fairly simple and straight forward operation. In fact lots of guys rent chamber reamers and do it themselves at home. I always felt that if I had it done to one of my rifles I would want to use the same chamber reamer on a set of 30 WCF dies so...

You know when you compare the ballistics of the modern 375 Winchester cartridge to the black powder loadings that made the 375 H&H magnum famous there is an eerie similarity!

I am still a pariah among some of my fellow shooting club memebers because 10 years ago I lead the effort to ban all alchol from the club grounds. I said it then and I'll say it now....it was a accident waiting to happen. I don't go to the bar to shoot and they should not come to the range to drink....

I am not collector so much as I am an accumulator and it is firearms like that trip my trigger. They have some history to them.

Sweden, Switzerland, Finalnd & Norway are said to have very firearms friendly laws.

Also Isreal is pretty reasonable in this regard though I suspect military weapons are more commonly found then sporting weapons there.

Well I've never used the Ram Line stock but I am sure it is all its purported to be.

I would like to suggest you might want to look at a laminate stock instead. They are stronger than fiberglass, and better looking.

Here in mid Michigan an 80% gun with honest wear (not from abuse or neglect) will often be found for sale for $250-$300. Should YOU buy it.....well that is up to you. Yes......my first shooting gun was a Sears/Winchester semi auto 22. I have not shot it in years but it has a special place in the gun cabinet.

The other first....hunting rifle....still gets used regularly. A win 94 30WCF my Dad bought when he came back from WWII. Great old gun.
