Surprise! Another Final Post.
The responses to my tread "Nearly time to take a bow--OUT. Forum is changing. EDITED" has served to illustrate some of what I had attempted to bring light to in my post. People here are not reading the words toward an understanding of others' ideas. Instead, they are gleaning what they wou...

Hey Jeeps, old buddy, I don't recall asking for any controls. Perhaps I did suggest a bit of self-control in order to hold others in higher than negative regard. Yeah, I might have alluded to that. Yeah, definitely maybe. So, if you are aiming your comments at me for my thoughts, you are not aiming ...

Nearly time to take a bow--OUT. Forum is changing. EDITED
A few weeks ago, the feeling began to creep up on me. Something was lacking while reading this forum. Then, during last week, and definitely today, it is becoming obvious--The forum is becoming a font for negativism and the spewing of ill informed people's prejudices. --That is only my opinion. So, ...

I wish for both of us that I could answer that, Quinn. Over here in Redmond, it is hit-or-miss on Levers. Sometimes there is an adequate number to drool over; other times, Yikes! The last show I attended in the summer had enough to feel satisfied that there was a representative amount. But the show ...

Do you suppose some of you have a narrow view of what is being taught in the average classroom? You seem a bit biased in your opinions toward education in America and America's youth. If that is what your tax dollars are paying for, does that mean you are condoning such curricula? Funny, during my y...

Grizz, I disagree. I taught plenty of English students over the years. I created many tests. There is no way a Grammar expert could satisfactorily respond in writing to those items in the Grammar section in the time posted. Seven topics which include even more items of note--not possible. On top of ...

Yeah, it's getting a bit spendy: toolheads, powder dies, powder funnels, shell plates. The cost of the press is alright, but just to equip for the dozen or so calibers I load, I'm in over $1000. (And I have my own dies already.) Someone is making a bit too much money off reloaders! I tried the new e...

There is a tremendous difference in the condition of houses and of people. It sounds as if you are the only good thing in this deal. GDandy, The problem is not the case mouth. I'm uncomfortable squeezing the neck down to .319 and then having it expand to .330 by jamming a bullet into it, leaving a cinched in area of brass just in front of the shoulder and just at the base of the bullet. I've never reloaded with a die that did thi...

Right. No expander on the sizing/decapping die. I hadn't realized that until the RCBS person told me. That is why she suggested I should have purchased a regular set of dies instead of the cowboys. I'm going to figure this out. I didn't spend all this money on the progressive and the accessories nec...

Normally, I size, expand the mouth, powder, seat, crimp, shoot. Some cartridges seat and crimp at the same time. My routine on a single stage press. Recently I purchased a Dillon 550B. I'm in a steep learning curve. Yesterday, I loaded .32 Win Special cartridges. There was no way with the Dillon equ...

Reloading: Mouth expansion after powder drop: Dillon Press?
.30-30 RCBS Cowboy Dies in Dillon 550B Press. I have a new set of Cowboy dies that I began to use today. Set the sizer die, ran the case up, and YIKES! neck came out at 0.319 (outside). The specs in manual Speer 13 show the neck to be 0.3301. That is quite a sqeeze! I set the seating die just to see...

Sorry Members: Change of Plans rifle sale/college gift.
The plan has a new problem; the recipient prefers to decline the gift. I will respect their decision. Since they are a member of this forum, it didn't take long for them to see through the scheme. Something should be done with this rifle beyond simply selling it for a price. I would rather give it a...

Need your ideas: Rifle sale for another's benefit.
Once upon a time, I purchased a '94 Winchester rifle through a GunBroker auction. The rifle was not as described--nowhere near what I was expecting, the seller was a dishonorable person, and GB folks didn't come through as I had expected. So I did not live happily ever after. (But I did learn a few ...

Wanted: .32-40 and .32WS Winchester Special Crimp Dies.
Last year, Lee built a couple .32-40 crimp dies for me. I sent one of them to another fellow. Now I can't remember who it was, and the old forum (tears) is gone, so I can't search to find his name. I could use it now, if he's not using it. Anyway, do any of you have .32-40 or .32 Winchester Special ...

Here in Oregon, most of the antlers are on the ground by mid-March. A few bucks keep them longer, but they are normally not too healthy. Unscrewing a barrel?
I've received some advice which is--Don't do it yourself. Have a gunsmith do it for you. I'd like to know how difficult it is and what the dangers are of unscrewing the barrel of an old '94 octagon. I'm trying to solve two guns' problems by switching their barrels. Any "do's/don't's I should co...
