8.5 gr of Unique is a real accurate plinker in my rifle.
18.0 gr of IMR 4227 was almost as good.
These aren't hunting loads, just plinkers, but they're a heck of a lot of fun

Prices at Cabela's are just silly. They had a 4" GP100 in there about 6 weeks ago I was actually thinking about for the wife. $539.00 I think it was. Bit high maybe, but not terrible. Stopped in last week for some reloading stuff, and noticed it was gone. They did have a used one tho. $649.00!!...

Have two Vaquero's.
One birdshead, one regular.
Really like the birdshead, but if the loads get hot, I like the regular grips better. The birdshead seem like it rotates more under recoil than the regular ones. Not a big deal, just a personal preference

Best thing is always get to a well stocked shop and handle as many as you can.
