Re: OT - Winter Storm
Old Time Hunter, when you were kids why didn't you swing at those ice balls with baseball bats? Frozen bats were too hard to hold on to with ice encrustd knit mittens. That's why we put our mittens and gloves on the steam radiators after we came to school, and after recesses. They'd be dry and warm...

I don't see why not. They most likely came from the same cartfull of parts, being delivered to various stations in the Model 94 assembly area. If Winchester, or any other manufacturer, came up with a special thread size for such small parts for model variations, it would surprise nobody if they lost...

Re: Problems with 44 Mag '94
What vintage is this 94? That sounds like it may be, at least partially, the typical problem that one can encounter with 94's made between 1964 and around 1972 or thereabouts. Winchester was making a 20 inch 94 carbine in 44 mag back then. All 94s from that period had a stamped steel lifter that ove...

I've cast both Lyman gascheck boolits for the 25-20 and 32-20. My 32-20 mold is the discontinued Lyman 311316 which I size to .310 to use as a 30-30 plinker. Winchester made the change from the post-64 stamped lifter to the cast lifter (look for the seam/mold line) in late 1970, and Model 94's made in 1971 had the new part (for the most part). Remember, some "1971 Models", like the 1871-1971 NRA Centennial Rifle & Musket. although a 1971 m...
