My son and I teamed up against the coyotes and 37 other teams Sat. and came up with a fourth place.. not much money, but got our entrance fees and $50 back..ended up with two coyotes, but a third one we couldn't recover as he got onto a ranch won't be killing any fawns this spring.. I cheat a little.. load ftx 160s in my 308..(Ruger Hawkeye..sorry..) swung the scope on a flat-out-running-like-his-tails-on-fire whitetail buck in Idaho last week... passed his nose with the crosshairs, touched off, never broke stride, swung again just as he hit the timber, touched off and he cartw...

Back in the mid seventies when I was raising four kids on $300 per week, I ran into a gunshow table that had three of those 22s in crates, with all whatever accessories they came with for $350 each... just couldn't afford one... broke my heart.... never seen another....

I have a Merit optical disc for my eyeglasses.. works very well.. just recently I have been experimenting with a piece of black electrical tape with a small hole made in it with a fine drill.. works as well as the Merit for a couple of cents.. try it... Les

I'm only 64.. the little Winchester 94 carbine is a 1940 model I picked up a year or so ago.. finally took her out for a spin.. just like God and Winchester made her, factory open sights.. knocked over a nice fat antelope doe at about 90 yds....I'm dinning on fresh backstrap butterflys ...

My buddy has his dad's Winchester 1886 extra light 33 WCF built in 1914 .. we lit a fire in her for the first time in 45 years today. I found brass at Midway and used some Hornady 200 gr FTX.. found a Lee Loader in that caliber a few months ago.. everything came together today at the range.. bright ...

Doc's got it right.. angle grinder with a wire brush on board.. follow up with a coat of Johnson's Paste Wax.. and watch out fer yer fingers.. everything will slide super easy.. Just rolled back to the cabin on the St. Joe, here in north Idaho.. came in to town Sat. night.. got 29 Kokanee (blue backs) this morning with two of my grandsons on Lake Cour d Alene.. they'll go into the smoker tomorrow evening for about five hours.. MMMM good... cold beer and warm smoked salmon.....

Had a nice Belgium made BLR in 308.. tried to love it.. shot well, but needed small base dies to make it work... couldn't put up with it any more and sold it.. life is too short to put up with that.. just my humble opinion.. Les
