Depends on when it was made, SN or the # in front of the lever pivot. Is Savage 99 stamped on the left side of the receiver or on the top?

Appies specifically to the 50 BMG.

And on Californians etc. - Hobie's explanation is right on. I never take it to mean me personally.

Puma headspace

Our man Cowboytutt gave me some medium hot loads to shoot in my 45 Colt Puma. He didn't like how the primers looked with an ejector imprint and suggested I may have too much head space (lighter loads look fine). He suggested that I use porgressive layers of scotch tape over the case head to see when...

Y - when you are talking about Ca. gun laws you are talking about our dems. Now they are a sensitive lot and all, but, they do not know what they are up to on this, but, they do feel good about it, which is the point for them. I may have mentioned before that they have banned handguns that never exi...

Wow Griff, thank you for that answer, very informative. I am on another side of the fence. I bought my first about 1990 from a Kmart. It has the rebounding hammer with no safety. It will shoot under an inch at 100 yds with a couple of types of factory ammo, 20" carbine. I also have a late model...

If it is deer antelope - the 25-06 will work well at any reasonable shooting distance. If the game is heavier the 7 mag is likely a better bet.

Scoped bolt actions from .243 to about 30-06 or 7 mag. You see very little else except for pigs then maybe some 444 or 45-70. One Blackfoot Indian buddy uses a 99 in 300 and a Siamese 45-70 and now a Ruger # 1 in 9.3 x 73 R.

Young's RV in Lancaster, Ca. closed it's doors. Many traveling from other areas used their services. Guess the 3.50 gas has hurt this business.

Bingo Junior - that's what I thought - if the bullet always works - certain cartidges it always did. The 250 Savage seems to be another whereas the .243 they had to make better performing bullets.
