The other thing particular to a 94ae in 357 is that it needs a special cartridge control gizmo fitted to the lever. This is due to the width of cartridge head and length. That's a very decent price - I sold mine online almost 10 years ago for $850.

The best part about the 1894P is that they can be carried in the trigger hand (around the grip), hanging down at your side (w/o hitting the ground/etc), readily swung up for the shot.

I "scout-scoped" the one I had.

What struck me was the way a draw knife was used on the sides of the blade to smooth the surface of the steel there, and how the Hamon was formed.

I've done the same thing - ONCE ! :cry:

Since that sting, the morning of the show, I ALWAYS call the local PD in the town/city where the GS venue is located, and ask the dispatcher if special duty officer(s) have been assigned to the GS.

No special officers assigned = no GS ………………………..

Yes, using the different DST's can be frustrating (to me).

Like everything else, when switching guns ( my long guns have been T/C's), I have reminded myself to wait/ponder the differences between both types of T/C DST's - mostly when switching to my Seneca for deer season here.
