Prayers for an Internet friend
Gang, for those so inclined, would you mind sending up a prayer for a guy I only know as Stumpyin08 on my Oregon/Washington fishing forum?
He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer last May, just completed his 12th cycle of chemotherapy, has an MRI and other tests coming up Monday, and gets the results Wednesday.
This fellow is not a complainer, and has a good attitude -- no small strengths when up against one of the hardest cancers to beat; the only one worse I can think is glioblastoma, the brain cancer with a thousand tentacles.
Even your good thoughts that it be the Creator's will that Stumpy be one of the ones who beats this would be much appreciated.
Muchas gracias amigos!

Prayers up.
Mention to him about turkey tail mushrooms as an adjunct to his treatment. There’s studies that show they help immune system bounce back from the ravages of treatment.

Pancreatic cancer sucks...he's already outlasted most victims.

Well, Stumpy's pancreatic tumor has not gotten any smaller, but it could be much worse. This is a heavyweight fight.

Re: Prayers for an Internet friend
Guys, here is an update on my Internet friend Stumpy up in the Portland area: He is still with us and just had the "Whipple procedure." He's still got a chance to be one of the few who beat pancreatic cancer. Thanks for any and all good thoughts or prayers. He just posted this on my old Oregon fishing forum.
Hi All, I'm home! The operation was 10.5 hours long last Friday. They ended up with taking out 1/3 of my stomach, half the pancreas, the gall bladder and bile duct, and 1/3 of my small intestine. Basically everything that may have been in contact with the pancreas was taken out (see Whipple procedure).
The care I received up at the VA was very good, except for some communication issues. I saw several of my nurses form my stem cell transplant days (back in 97), and saw the nurse, Lola, that probably saved my life back in '93, when I woke up paralyzed from the waist down with B-call Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma.
I was in the ICU for 3 days, then they transferred me to the best room in the house! Up on the 9th floor, overlooking the Willamette, with a view of Mt. Tabor, and parts East. The room is on the corner of the building. Floor to ceiling windows!
Didn't get to see the sun rise behind Mt. Hood though, all rainy and cloudy.

Done. Tell him to keep fighting. It may take time to recover, but it is better than giving up.
