Wow! Somehow I completely missed that the OP was asking how the sight BASE was affixed to the barrel. Sorry!
Thanks for the photo Pat C !

Re: Browning 53 FRONT SIGHT AFFIXED
A friend had a Browning (Miroku) Model 53 in .32-20. The front sight on his gun was mounted in a standard dovetail. I'm a little confused about the "brazed" comments. Maybe Browning made more than one style of Model 53?

Thanks for posting this.
I went to their site and ordered Lever Action coffee and Number 26 as well. Always interested in trying another coffee.

Re: I love modern electronics in my truck, but when they don’t work..
I'd buy a Hi-Lux if they were available here. Probably the CAFE standards thing, but who knows? My 2013 Tacoma only has 76,000 miles on it and should last me the rest of my life. No desire for a newer model with more useless stuff on it. Three years ago we bought a new Subaru Outback. The evening of...

I never liked beef liver, but I love venison liver. Especially with grilled onions.

Re: Ever see a mold like this
I never had one quite like that. But, I did have a H&G 4 cavity that had 2 cavities of the standard #503 and 2 of the #503S. The 503 was the "standard" 250 grain Keith style 44 SWC but the 503S was 290 grain. The 503S had a longer shank below the lube groove but was otherwise the same ...

Re: Casting - lube question
In the past I have used GAR 50/50, LBT Blue, and others before settling on Carnauba Red.
I recently mixed up a batch of Ben's Red and have loaded some into the Star, but need to cast some bullets to see how it compares to the previous lubes.

Re: Info on Orignal Winchester 1892 Conversion to 357 & 44 Magnum
I believe Robert Snapp of Clare, Michigan was converting '92's to 357 and 44 Magnum in the 1970's. He later was well known for his work on custom Martini rifles. I once owned a K-22 that he had previously converted to .32 H&R.

Re: Are these Radios legit...?
Well said, Doc. I think the best solution for those unwilling or unable to pass the 35 question written exam for the Technician license would be GMRS. A group of Tech licensed individuals could be well served by a basic 2 meter radio with prearranged frequencies. Something like the Icom V-86, which ...

This is an informative thread about these on a popular ham radio site:

Re: The hillary hole
Someone sells a "plug" to replace the lock. But the real turn off for me is the beauty of the original lines were ruined when the frame was expanded to allow room for the lock. On the J-Frames the hammer is somewhat hidden by the frame compared to the older models. The newer revolvers are ...

It's kind of in the middle of nowhere in western Minnesota, but well worth the visit if you are in the area:

That looks like some of Fermin Garza's fine work.
I recently had him make a couple of Patridge blades for a Freedom Arms 97. Did not opt for the gold bead as I wanted a narrower .100" blade.

Very nice 94. Obviously ordered by someone who had some real particular thoughts on what would be the ideal rifle for him. Segue a little bit - I remember when a guy could go to the Chevrolet dealer and order a Bel Air (or Biscayne, etc) with 283 cubic inch engine, 3 speed overdrive transmission, si...

Re: The cost of reloading versus buying loaded ammunition
I’ve been enjoying the .32 Long and H&R for some time but went down the .32-20 rabbit hole last year when I purchased a used Freedom Arms 97 in .32 H&R that had the .32-20 extra cylinder, which I really wasn’t interested in at the time. But, if you’ve got it, you might as well try it out. Th...
