i wouldn't try to weld one myself,I can weld but not real good at small welding jobs,I just thought a 99 might look good with a large"John Wayne" loop.

It says they have boxer primers,so it is reloadable.Buy a bag and try it out.please post results if you try it.

There should be another letter code stamp.take off the butt stock and i think it will be on the left side somewhere.

Look at the lever pivot and see if there is a small circle with a number and letter in it.there is a letter code chart on the net,cant rember where,that tells manuf year of later models.mine is a 66 and has a letter T.

Found out today that my local gun club will be shooting some silhouettes this season,so,180 LaserCast bullets and 8.0 gr of Unique will be my "knock em over' load.

O.K.,I got this gun shooting about 1.5 moa.Tweaking the speed made another good difference.The old load,40.0 gr of 4064 saw it hitting 2,2.5 moa.Increasing to 42 gr of 4064 brought that down to 1.5 moa.I forgot to throw in the chrono,but ithink they are shooting about 2600 fps.I'll remember the chro...

I got some Nosler 300 grainers today,the cannelure is very far forward compared to Hornady 300's.i can't imagine the load data would be the same for the two.Does anyone have a Nosler manual that could post the load data for H110 powder,velocities too if provided in the nosler Manual.Thank you very m...

What's your favorite .44 mag load?
Mine?I like running a 300 gr Hornady XTP in front of 19.5 gr of H110 out of my '94AE.Same load for my Redhawk.Never shot any game with this load but it is real accurate in both guns.

Thanks a lot Big Sky,I have been net searching for instructions for the fore end fix.I am going tomorrow and try 41.0 gr of IMR 4064.I am really eager to see if thig gun shoots,I like the look and feel of it and want to make it my go everywhere shoot anything rifle.

I reported above that my 99 made a one hole group at 40 yrds,well,at 100 yrds that group opened up to well over 4".Trying 4064 powder instead of BLc2.

Well,my son and I took the 'ol Willys out and crawled into the shooting range.At 40 yrds. the 99 made one ragged hole in the target,so I feel a lot better now about my 99.I just hate the nervousness of a used gun purchase.

Thanks for all the replys guys,I loaded 20 rds with 44 gr. of BLc2,because I had some,and 165 gr sp.I will report my results in a couple days,it's awful snowy here right now.I do like 4064,that's what I use in 243,35 whelen,22-250.I'll try it too.
