Savage 99F in 300 Savage Year of birth help

One of my uncle passed away before Easter and now I have to figure what he had.
His Savage 99F in 300 Sav I am trying to figure out. It is the same as my Dad's. Dad sold his long ago, thus I want this one! It will join my 99 in 250-3000.
Blue Book says 99Fs were 1955 to ?? This one has NO Tang safety and a boss on barrel for rear sight. It is not a Featherweight.

I can not tell build year from online site.

Look at the lever pivot and see if there is a small circle with a number and letter in it.there is a letter code chart on the net,cant rember where,that tells manuf year of later models.mine is a 66 and has a letter T.

A friend has ser # 641XXX he bought it new in 53 I would be guessing that yours is mid to late 50's, email savage they could probably help you. danny

I would guess 55 but there is a number and a letter stamped in a small circle I think in front of the lever pivot. What does it say?

As I am doing this long distance thru my cousin who is on site. On my 99 there is a small letter K stamped on the frt face of the pivot. Is this what I have to get from her?

That should be 1959, there should be a number with it that is the inspector's #. What are next two numbers in the serial #?

On my 99 the serial is 3241XX with the K on the lever pivot but no circle etc. Just the letter K and it is well stamped. On my uncle's 99 I will need an answer back from my cousin on what is stamped but the serial is 7662XX.

There should be another letter code stamp.take off the butt stock and i think it will be on the left side somewhere.
