My Rifle Is Back From Marlin
I posted 2 weeks back about my new Marlin 1894 FG 41 mag jamming open. http://www.levergunscommunity.com/viewtopic.php?t=6663&highlight=&sid=987255ce633d5faf178c35225bfb87d5 I shipped it to Marlin last Monday & got it back today. I wrote a letter about the issues I was having. It came ba...

New 1894 Marlin Lever Sticks Open
I picked up a Marlin 1894 FG 41 mag recently. If I load more than 2 rounds in the magazine, it will lock open. The round on the carrier is free/ loose. It seems like the next round in the mag is just starting to come out of the mag tube & stopping the carrier from lifting. I can get it to functi...

375 Win Primers Backing Out (with pic)
I think this was addressed before, but I would like to hear from anyone with similar experience. I have a Model 94BB. Factory 200 gr loads shoot fine but the primer backs out. My reloads with using RL7 or H4895 powder, Hornady 220FP bullet & CCI 200 primers seem OK. Should I be worried? Reload o...

Federal Ammunition (ATK) Made Good on Bad Brass
Just passing along that Federal replaced some ammo I picked up last summer. Here is a link with pics to the old site explaining the issue. Basically, I bought an old box of 32 H&R mags at an old gun store. Upon firing, I noticed sticky extraction. When examining the cases, I noticed cracks in th...

Rimfire, you are correct on the peepsight. I didn't want to scope the rifle at this point. My taste in scopes is kind of t-boney on a cube steak budget with a kid in college. I prefer it to the factory sights. I picked up a NECG white bead front sight too, but didn't realize it was bigger in diamete...

Finally, A Cast Load I Can Live With (405)
I have had poor luck shooting cast in the last couple years. I imagine it is lack of patience & loading knowledge on my part, but some was over-size &/or pitted bores. Anyway, I bought a stainless Ruger #1 in 405 Win (I know, not a lever, but it is a lever caliber). I'm trying some 325 GC ca...

1886, did you see this one? Seems rather steep price-wise to me. Chris

New to me 444, Thanks 1886!
I snuck out of work early so I could try my 444S I picked up from 1886 this past Saturday. No time to load anything or proper bullets so I picked up a box of Hornady LeverRevolution thing-a-ma-ling ammo. $32.95. Ouch! I trudged through the snow to set up my portable bench. After approx. 60 yards I s...

405 Win Cast Load Suggestions
I just bought some 300gn gas checked cast bullets from Montana Bullet Works and was wondering if anyone has any load suggestions. I remember there were some on the old site but didn't copy them down (bonehead  ). I think someone had some 2400 loads. Any help appreciated. None in my load manual...

NOT FS Ruger Blackhawk Buckeye 38-40, 10mm
I am no longer selling this. I must have paid too much for it & the ammo/reloading stuff. Sorry. I have a Ruger Blackhawk Buckeye 38-40, 10mm convertable taking space in my safe for sale (and I want something new & have a kid in college). It is in what I consider nice used condition, no majo...

Not a takedown, but button mag & antique. Was a joy to shoot, but I was worried I would wear it out shooting it. (Also got a case of gun trade fever, I feel another case coming on too ) Chris

FS Cast 38-55 & 32-40 Bullets
I hope it is OK to sell here. I have 225 Desperado Cowboy Bullet, LLC 260 grain .380 diameter bullets I will sell & ship for $20. I paid $42, tried 25 of them. They are a 20 to 1 mix. (not hard cast). I also have 475 Oregon Trail Laser Cast 170 grain .322 diameter 32-40 bullets I'll sell & s...
