New to me 444, Thanks 1886!

Post by CBinNH »

I snuck out of work early so I could try my 444S I picked up from 1886 this past Saturday. No time to load anything or proper bullets so I picked up a box of Hornady LeverRevolution thing-a-ma-ling ammo. $32.95. Ouch! I trudged through the snow to set up my portable bench. After approx. 60 yards I said far enough. It is warm today & kind of foggy at ground level. The rifle is everything he said it was. I like the Lyman peep sight. I have one on my Marlin LTS 30-30 too. 5 shots. I used a 6 o'clock hold. I know I pulled one high. Seems to recoil less than my Ruger #1 in 405 Win. I am pleased. Thanks 1886. Chris

I am glad you are happy. That .444 is special. It is pretty and it shoots. The B 92 Centennial I received from you is equally nice. I have not shot it though. Not sure I will. It was a pleasure dealing with you Chris. Thanks. 1886.

just my personal preference, but I like the smooth stocks better than the checked ones.

Congrats on that great rifle. That is the way that stuff shoots in my 45-70 and 30-30.

CB, you'll get over not getting the safety with it. :D

It has a truly classic look to it.
