Re: Why would we want to keep our guns
Sore Shoulder, I kept wondering why he had that attitude, and then I saw he was in Detroit. I grew up there and thank the Army for sending me to Oklahoma, where I have stayed and became a Deputy Sheriff, now retired. I never in my years as a Deputy thought like he does. But I sort of understand, in ...

Re: Happy Birthday rodeo kid.
Thanks all for the good wishes, went to the local firearms emporium as my son gave $150 for my birthday to be used towards a firearm purchase only. So I obeyed and put a Springfield XDs in flat dark earth in layaway. My local gun pusher/salesman knows I have a weakness for the FDE. Sure is hard to r...

Re: Shotgun Self-Defense loads for Today?
We keep 2 shotguns loaded(along with 2 pistols) in our bedroom. My wife has a 12ga Pioneer arms coach gun, and I have a Ithaca 12ga self defense pump. Mine is loaded with a OO buck, followed by a buck and ball, and then a slug, then that repeats for a total of 6. She has 1 OO buck and 1 buck and bal...

One more vote for the Winchester 9422M, I have one and it is remarkable. I also have a Henry large loop carbine in .22lr and a Henry in .22mag would be a good choice. My neighbor just got a CZ 512 semi-auto in .22mag. I looked at it but have not fired it. He has and seems happy with it. One thing th...

Well I do have the Standard Marlin 1895 with (GASP) a Redfield scope(sorry, old age and bad eyes) and a .357 Ruger Bisley for backup. But now for hogs I have gone all modern and use a Springfield M1 Scout rifle(with a 4x scout scope) and use my Colt Anaconda for backup. I tried one of my AR's but it...

Yesterday my wife went to take her firearms training for her concealed carry permit. I went looking in my closet to see if I had a holster she could use. She has a Ruger LCR and I was able to find one for a S&W Chief's special that worked okay. She only fired 10 rounds with the Ruger and then th...

Denis, I just don't understand why some people don't like the Henry Rifle Co. They make a decent product at fair prices in America. And they create jobs for Americans. What is wrong with that? Just an off the wall comment. And contradiction I guess. I would really prefer a .22mag handgun for woods walking, but I always end up taking my U.S. Firearms 12-22. I have tried my Sig Sauer 1911-22 but really prefer the 12-22. Twelve rounds and it makes me feel like I'm back in time I guess. Anywa...
