Only problem was that it had a block polymer stock. Yuk.
Bought it and brought it home and got that reaction from Y2K - double-yuk! Nothing wrong with black polymer, but it simply doesn't look right on the M1-Carbine.
It has been driving me nuts for well over a year. I finally got around to calling Legacy Sports (the importer), and the cost for a replacement wood stock set (stock and hand-guard) was almost as much as I paid for the whole darn gun!
I figured I just needed to live with it and be patient. My patience paid off!
A few weeks back CDNN ran a sale on a wood stock replacement set for the M1 Carbine. It was less than half as much as what Legacy Sports wanted. I figured I could alter it to fit, having read that several parts were interchangeable between the two firearms.
Well, here are the results. The stock was almost a perfect fit without any alteration! All I did was sand the hand-guard where the barrel band covers it. Everything else dropped in.

I think it looks a lot better. What say ye?
