Check around for a better deal. That's pretty high for a refinished rifle. Can be had much cheaper in my area, Pacific NW.

I have an orginal in 45-75. I didn't go looking for, it just kind of fell into my lap. I had always thought I would want the 45-60 because of the brass issue but the 45-75 turned out to be a piece of cake. Bought Lee dies for right around $30 and got the brass from Buffalo Arms. Yeah they were a lit...

The most expensive gun is the non-shooter antique that some rich loon is willing to spend too much money on.... (genuine provinanced historical pieces excepted...) Thank those rich loons for preserving cool pieces of history. If they were cheap some bone head would drill and tap them so they...

I would say he's worth every penny. You take his job, hours, travel time and responsibility to the NRA members and I think you'll soon find that he earns every bit of that. Given the same responsibilities in aother corporation of the same size and scope he most likely woul be making much more. IMHO.

Yeah, but you can't buy em!! They're just hanging up there to give you a kink in the neck and drool on your shirt.

(x-3)*(x^6-2x^3+1)=0 OK, now for us calculus / algebra / trig impaired persons translate that gibberish into 1+1= 2. I've tried to sell things several times on this forum. Each time I've posted the items at what I've paid for them. Never trying to make any profit, just trying to break even. Sometim...

Kim and Craig are spot on. Just follow their advice and you'll be alright. One extra thing I might say is that anytime you let somebody else handle the pistol, explain the bit about taking the hammer to full cock before letting it down. I've done this to everyone that's handled mine and not a soul f...

Can't speak for anyone else but I use from 25.5 to 26.5 of AA5744 with 1/2 sheet of TP for a filler. I top this with a 260 gr bullet from an orginal Winchester mold. Bullet is cast at 30-1. Depending on the bullet and brass, if you have a hard time chambering the round, simply remove the decap pin p...

If you are shooting at a prairie dog at 450 yards iron sights are of little value, an elk or deer at 200 they work just fine. It all depends on the type of shooting you do. To make bold statements one way or the other is ridiculous. IMHO

Nice! I love range reports. Does that load have a similar pressure curve to black powder? This is a light load at about 1350FPS. I've gone as high as 28.5. but didn't like the recoil. It didn't really hurt to shoot but it was enough that I thought it might be a little hard on 119 year old wood, I d...

This is my grandson with the rifle. The picture makes the finish on the stock and metal look better than it actually is but the bore is excellent. X ring on the targets is 1.5 inches wide.

Here are the last 3 targets that I shot with my Winchester Model 1886 in 45-90. Rifle was manufactured in 1888. The load I used was 27.0gr of 5744 with 1/2 sheet of toilet paper filler topped with a Lyman 300gr gas check bullet cast at 30-1, actual weight of bullet, lube and gas check is really clos...
