Re: History of the Olive Branch on our Dime...
I didn't notice any changes on a dime. This morning, I did look at a 2026 quarter coin and noticed the pilgrims on one side with 1776-2026 and the Mayflower ship with Mayflower Compact on the other side. What has the Mayflower Compact signed in 1620 have to do with 1776? And now I see a quarter with...

I won't be watching the super bowl. The NFL rates a -10 on my interest meter.

The Custodian at my elementary school was in the US Navy and was at Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941.
I remember the big tattoos on his forearms and he walked with a limp.
I wish I could go back in time and talk to him again and ask him about the attack on Pearl Harbor.

Very interesting...a couple of questions though.
Will it feed and fire 40SW? (No interest in 40 S&W, just wondering)
Why does the front sight look like it's installed backward??
It would be a lot more interesting at a price point of around $800.

Re: .222 Remington/.223 Remington for deer
My thoughts are that a 222 or 223 may be adequate for shooting deer that are posing in the open and unaware of the shooter's presence, but does not leave much room for error. In my experience, hunting in the thick woods with deer moving or running, the 222/223 will let you down when you need it most...

I discovered the cylinder gap blast on my own as a teenager with a Blackhawk 357.
I tried a fast draw and burned a hole in a lined flannel shirt.
Then later I tried adjusting the rear sight using a rolled-up Sears & Roebuck sleeping bag as a rest. Ripped a big burned hole in it.

I am thinking about placing a small pouch with a snap down flap on the butt cuff to hold 5 or 6 rounds instead of the cartridge loops.
I've found that making a pattern or template is about 50% of any leather project.

I wore out a couple of Ruger MkII 22LR semi-autos in my youth. My favorite practice was to dump 500 rounds in my pockets and walk around in an old gravel pit.
