New to me ... Woox Stocks

Post by Rimfire McNutjob »

Anyone seen these? With everything seemingly gone to plastic, I was surprised to see this modern take on wood for guns. Some of them are pretty nice/tasteful I think.

Really nice to look at, but the price point does not fit my gunmoney budget. :(

Oh my eyes! I can't unsee that now. What a shame to do to those guns, and that wood.

I need to see my optometrist. I thought you meant woox socks and I was looking forward to another footwear alternative.

Wow I think they are nice, actually. Expensive, but for something both useful AND pretty, not surprising they are pricey.

Of course traditionalists aren't going to want anything changed from the linseed-oiled walnut and blued, non-threaded, metal, which is fine.

It just depends on whether your goal is a gun for lookin' at or one that has to perform in a specific manner that is beyond the capabilities of a 'fine vintage levergun'.

I like BOTH, and never understood why the 'tactical' crowd cannot appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship and design of the 1875-1950 era leverguns. But there are also the 'traditionalists' who won't admit there are performance niches where the beautiful old guns fall short.

Those of us fortunate enough to own more-than-one levergun can have it both ways, thankfully due to modern capitalist marketing and US engineering and manufacturing.

What color case? I don't see anything that looks like color case to me?

Its a natural stainless or Ti can that is getting some color from use ---- stainless tends to turn brownish and Ti can go bluish-brown and resemble case coloring when heated up

Don't know fellas, -- i actually think this thing is gorgeous now after opening up the link ----- Its already a non traditional lever gun , being stainless and threaded with a rail , and wearing a 30mm "tac" style scope ---- The wood accented stock gives it some character
