Oh! New information! Took the furniture off for a basic cleaning and a shot of CLP and found some markings toward the end of the tang framework. The left side is stamped YG15. Personally, every 94 action I've handled is smoother than the Marlins, but then it might just be the ones I've touched. Top eject on the 94s might cause you issues if you ever plan to scope.
