Re: Anyone else like red dots on long guns..?
Believe it depends on how old you are………..I was “raised” on open sights and after a lifetime of shooting the old antique Winchesters I’ve come to believe that receiver/tang sights are the fastest to get on target………to me, adding glass of any sort is a hinderence and at 69 I don’t plan to change as ...

Re: Anyone else like red dots on long guns..?
I used a red dot for bullseye matches for a long time back 30 years ago. An Aimpoint, not a heads up display as shown above. But I bought an AR15 on a lark maybe 5 years ago, and I put a heads up display red dot on it. Much different than my old Aimpoint as it has 4 different crossharis with a norm...

I'm not but I like that one you have on your Nova- how is it mounted? Something called a Burris Speed Bead. (Sits at the back of the receiver with a ring held in place between stock and receiver. Not sure they make them for the super nova anymore as think the Nova's and Supernovas come drilled and ...

Anyone else like red dots on long guns..?
Is anyone else more and more liking red dots on their long guns. I've suddenly noticed I've gotten rather a few. It started with me looking for a way to put an optical sight on my 9.3x62 - an old hunting rifle that wasn't drilled and tapped so a scope wasn't an option but a good buddy of mine sugges...

I don't like Unique through a Lee Perfect but works better through a MEC shotgun press. (Wonder if there is something to do with ratio of diameter of flakes to diameter of hole...?)

N105 was close in performance to R123 I think. There seems to be a bit of a hole in the market in this slot ... small capacity, small caliber rifle. I know, they're magnum pistol powders but they were good in small rifle. Yep, I think N105 should do well in a Hornet (If you can make N110 and Ramsho...

N105, N32C and N530 as I understand it need significant changes to plant set up vs Viht's other powders so that's why there is still some stock. I had looked at VV's site and saw N105 still listed, but it appears I've assumed too much from that. Further searching found a UK site with an exchange fr...

What caught my eye was all or most all of the rifles in the racks on the video had the dreaded tang safety 😡. WHY??? Of course, Pedersoli does make some 1886s without them which only begs to ask why some rifle models have them and some do not. Odd. While we all enjoy lever action rifles, I find it ...

I find my 20" barrel 44 mag Alaskan pretty good. This is 180gr Peregrine Hog (Non- lead) over 19.2gr of N105 at 50yds. ~0.9" c-c group so pretty acceptable for a .44 cal lever action https://i.imgur.com/sb9fNfs.jpg Other end of the spectrum: 255 gr SWC gas check in a 44 special case over 1...

265 gr Interlock in .44 mag carbine
Hi folks,
Managed to pick up some 44 cal 265gr Hornady Interlocks which I will load of H110 and Viht N110.
Anyone got any experience with either combo?
Should get decent some speed as out of a 20" barrelled lever action.
Thanks in advance,
Scrummy

Re: Short 44 mag brass and heavy bullets
That VV load is impressive, if I ever see that powder around these parts I may have to pick some up. Some quick figuring shows that you could use a max case length about .060" longer than the Special (or that much shorter than a magnum) with that bullet and likely still have a round that cycle...
