Do you rake the face with the left barrel loaded with buckshot to blind them and then thump them with the slug or ball ???

I've had my BPS 10 for gotta be 20 years, only hunted with it a few times. The only deer I shot with it was a nice young tender one. I hit it with OO buck at about10 yards . I was on the ground andit was walking towards me. I turned it's head into a canoe, and it never knew what happened.
Somewhere I have a box of federal slugs, all 5 are unfired!

I’ve done the gammit of 3 1/2” 10’s , a BPS a pair of Ithaca MAG-10’s , a Remington SP-10 and about three years ago I bought a circa 1884 Parker Grade 2 top lever 10 gauge with original Damascus barrels but it also had a set a Belgium made fluid steel 10 3 1/2” barrels that have Briley screw ins . That thing will open your eyes when I patterned factory buck and slug loads .

When the Ithaca Mag 10 first came out a local Tavern owner ordered one thru the Trap & Skeet club where I shot all the time. The Club Manager was a tremendous shot and at night under the lights He put on a show with that 10ga I'll never forget shooting from well past the 27 yard line. yesterday when I was Young.... :o .
