Re: Fixing cracked wrist on stock?
A length of surgical tubing wrapped tightly around the wrist works better than clamping and won't leave any marks on the wood. I have used a good marine grade 2-part epoxy with this method and it has given very good results. I get as much epoxy in the break as I can and then wrap it tightly with the...

I think I like my Gunsite Scout better also. Great little rifle and surprisingly accurate. Not sure why they went with 30-06 instead of .308, can't see any advantage to the 30-06 in a 14.5" barrel. Plus a modern military round would make sense. I kind of like the orange camo stock though. Hunte...

It doesn't take much to set off the ammo hoarders these days. The local Cabelas said they sold nine pallets of .223 last week, and very little of it was actually of the green tip variety. I have used my Uberti '73 in 44-40 for silhouettes using Swiss FFFG and just run a slightly damp boresnake through it between relays. I tested it once to see how many shots I could fire without cleaning before accuracy started to fall off at 100yds and had 29 rounds go in a 3" group and the 30t...

I have an 1886 Winchester that had the rotary dovetail buggered up by someone trying to drive it out like a regular dovetail. The Krag has a little more get-up-and-go but the bigger difference is the Krag can use a much greater selection of bullets since they can shoot the pointy ones while the 30-30 is mostly used in tubular magazines so only flat-nosed bullets are allowed with the exception of the new Hornady "Lever...

Marlin did make the Levermatic 57M that was a 22 WMR. Not the most traditional looking lever gun but they are good shooters.
A couple of the local lever action silhouette shooters use them in the pistol cartridge class.
