Buffalo Bore makes some fine hunting .45acp if you know your limitations....The 255 grain, flatnose, hardcast comes to mind.....I recall a test where these penetrated over twice as far as FMJ 230s.....My limitations would be fifty yards, at which range these would only drop about 2 inches 8) https:...

556 N 223,, the same or not ?
I have always been told 223 is fine out of a 556 barrel but not the other way around, headspace I think is the reason. However today I'm in a local gunshop where the owner is a "gunsmith", he says baloney. You can shoot a 556 out of a 223. So when I got home I pulled out my calipers and me...

Tap the rear barrel sight out of it's dovetail slot so that it exits the barrel on the same side as the loading port (RH side). FP-336 is the top mount Foolproof, FP-94/36 is the side-mount. All 336s after about 1952 are D&T. If yours hasn't got the two little 6-48 holes on the left side of the receiver then you need the FP-336. If you don't have the waffle-top 336 (so-called for the wavy matting on the top of the recei...

well based on recommendations from you guys I settled on a peep sight. Just got it in today and from reading the instructions its talking about tapping for the mounting screws. No haven't yet looked at my rifle (Marlin 336 30-30) almost afraid to find out this is true. Is it?

so much for my question  well, I guess if you have a use for zinc bullets, you could make them out of pennies. Probably still illegal (destroying currency) if you worry about such things. I think copper would stick to your bullet mold, as it melts at a much higher temp than zinc and lead allo...
