I got me a '66 Bronco yesterday.

Post by hightime »

I've had three before and sold them '' stupid'', ten years or more ago. Now that supposedly retired, I can't seem to buy anything, let alone replace those fun little rigs. Restored they sell for 12 to 25 thousand, and junk 2,500 and up. I gave up when my wife wouldn't let me buy a '77 runner for 3 grand. BUT yesterday I went to talk to a fella about building him a cabin, and he has a '66 half top model just sitting in the woods. Do you want to use that as part payment I asked? Sure I want it gone he said. He almost gave it to me, with a power angle snow plow. In upper MN we have a rust problem, but this one is not too bad. I'm going to start a frame up restoration anyway.
Besides talking about his new cabin and Broncos, he was all over my leverguns too. I just happened to have me 1873 Uberti Special Sporting with. He's on the way to my cabin , you see?

All in all a good day. The 45 shot well also.

I already knew, you can buy almost every part you might need. New. In the last few years, I've learned to weld sheet metal. Rusted parts I'll just cut away and replace. I'd like it to look stock when I'm done. It's a straight six, that's fine with me, the lighter the better, more room to work under the hood too.
Here's one I hope it looks like when I'm done. Not sure about light blue though.

And it will still keep working in a major EMP event.

As someone who had Jeep fever bad for a long time, that Bronco is everything a CJ wished it was. If I had it to do over again I would have had Bronco fever.
