Re: 140 gr cowboy bullets
Little update on the 140 gr. Cowboy bullets. Today I loaded up 200 rounds of these suckers with 38 brass, spm primer (cause its all I had), 3.2 gr of Titegroup C.O.L. Of 1.455. It was excellent in my revolver and my 92. I put 25 in each and it fed smoothly in the 92 and both barrels were surprisingl...

Re: Why do cars just catch fire on their own...?
Generally cars catch fire due to a direct short it gets hot and catches fire. Sometimes a fluid leak you don't realize you have can drip on hot exhaust manifolds and catch fire after you have parked. I work for the City OF Dallas as a mechanic in the same garage the garbage trucks get serviced and t...

Re: 140 gr cowboy bullets
Thanks 1894CFAN that's about what I was guessing. I was going to start with 3.5 gr of TG and check for lead fouling. Sounds like I was on track. Thanks for verifying

Re: Choosing a Blackhawk?
I do roll my on so that's not an issue. I want take down power with plenty of penetration! It will be fed heavy hardcast hand loads. I want it to be able to defend me against XL pigs and large predators if need be. I don't really want to go 454 beacuase I like the look of the Bisley Blackhawks. I ki...

Choosing a Blackhawk?
I'm going to buy a New Model Blackhawk I have decided that. The problem is what caliber 45 Colt or 44 mag. I know the 45 can be loaded up to get maximum penetration with hard cast bullets but how long with the pistol hold together doing that? I want this gun to have a long happy life I don't want to...

140 gr cowboy bullets
I was at the gun shop the other day picking up some primers and stuff and all they had for bullets in 357 was 140 gr cowboy hornday bullet. Never seen any loads for this thing wouldn't have normally got it but pickens are slim these day. I want to shoot it out of my rifle and pistol. All the powder ...

Re: 454 Vs. 45/70?
Ranch Dog I have heard that the RG 45/70 is basically of the 336 design is this true? If so is this a good thing or a bad thing? I guess what I'm asking is it as durable as a Remlin and while loading what kinda of pressure should I try to keep it under. I'm trying to decide on which 45/70 is the way...

I think the Rossi 45/70 is something like the 1895 Marlin or so I have read.

Re: 454 Vs. 45/70?
Ok I'm sold on the 45/70 caliber especially since I reload! All I can find in lever action is new Marlin 45/70 and the Rossi 45/70 in stock around my area. The Rossi is less by quite a bit, If I went with Rossi you think I might regret it? I don't know much about the Rossi 45/70 never held one. I do...

. So if I stay with recipes rated for the gun from reputable source looks like I will be ok! What about the new Remlins its all I can seem to find?

Re: 454 Vs. 45/70?
I like the look and feel of the Marlins 1895 but are there some design flaw, or is the Marlin week? This is the first I have heard about any KBs going on with the Marlin lever guns! Or is this a common problem and I am just not in the know?

Re: 454 Vs. 45/70?
Wow lots of good opinions! Ok looks like 45/70, I was leaning that way anyways since I reload I would have lots of options it seems. Now the big question is What model 45/70? Which one gives the best gun for the price?

454 Vs. 45/70?
In a rifle how does the 454 compare to the 45/70? Is 454 in a lever action a good choice for a bear stopper if need be? I just trying to get some opinions of you guys that might be more familiar with these calibers since I have none with either caliber.

Rossi Rio Grande
Few weeks ago I got a new R92 in 357 mag. Like it but it has the usual rough as sand paper action, guess I need to get the action job dvd. But my question is I'm looking for a big bore lever action in 45/70, 444, or maybe even 454 is the Rossi Rio Grande worth buying or should I go with a marlin and...

Re: New .357 mags
Thanks for the friendly welcome guys! My first center fire rifle was an old 94 30-30 I killed my first buck with that gun, and I still have that gun. Recently my interest for lever guns has been rekindled for some reason. Anyone have any favorite all around loads they favor for a 357 combo?

New .357 mags
I recently sold an old Ak-47 I never used took the money and bought a Rossi Braztech R92 and an Uberti Cattleman nm both in 357 mag. I am starting to get into reloading but have read that the Uberti can only handle low pressure rounds. If this is true then it is useless as a 357 mag. Why did they ch...
