I too feel there is a change in the forum lately. It used to be that there were a few stickies, a few OT's and a whole lot of posts with great Lever Gun discussion. now days the first page of posts is one third stickies, one half OT and 20 percent (okay, it does not add up to 100 percent, but it is ...

Which receiver sight and why?
I have a 30 WCF Marlin 1893, circa 1904 that is in pretty nice shape. It still retains some of the CCH (85 to 90 %, but faded), the blue is clean and dark, the action is smooth and tight, the bore is bright and it shoots good groups with both jacketed and cast loads. Unfortunately the wood has been ...

We came to the conclusion that a guy would be better off loading that same bullet at about 1600 fps. it would kill anything that walks and recoil is tolarable and bullet performace would probably be better. In penetration testing the only bullet that actually did better at 2000 fps were the brass p...

Bear ID Program
This was posted on another forum and I found it to be both fun and informative. You can qualify for your Montana black bear ID Certificate that is required if you plan to hunt black bear there. You only need qualify once in your life. There is a test at the bottom of the page on the link below. It's...

I think that grouping is a training tool, i.e., something to provide a focus, or a game to play while getting serious work done at the range. If you can do it once, can you do it twice? If you reload, they probably also provide necessary information about load consistancy. :) What he said, plus it ...

It is an epoxy and a danged hard one at that. I ended up going to a professional furniture refinisher to have it stripped off my 1886 Browning Hi Grade. I know I wiped out the resale value, but this rifle will be with me until I am gone. It is a shooter and I could not stand the look of that finish....

The Rifleman
I just realized while watching the end of an old episode of "The Rifleman" that the drawing at the end during the credits has Lucas holding a model 92 with the loading gate on the left side. Does anyone know where I can get one of those?

Flat Shooting Coyote Loads
I am looking for a flat shooting coyote load in 45 Colt. I intend to carry the load in my Model 97 Freedom Arms single action. I know this is not a lever action, but the same load could be used in a 45 colt levergun. Any experience or thoughts are welcome. Thanks.
