Not levergun but very interesting. I picked up a pretty good book on E-bay on sale for $20. The name is "The Model 1903 SpringField Rifle And It's Variations". By Joe Poyer. I thought I knew a little bit about the bolt action Model 1903 but boy was I wrong. I never realized how many differ...

A slight thread drift here, but does anyone else remember the reason why John Wayne had to quit playing football for U.S.C.? I believe he had a lower back injury. I also believe that was one of the reasons for the way he kind of walked to the side with a slight dip?? I think I am right on that?? Tom.

This is a fun topic. So critique away on my choice. My choice was the Case StockMan. For several reasons. First is how slender the main blade is. By not being as wide it will allow a few things. First when gutting I like a thinner blade because it cuts easier. Second when skinning the hardest part i...

The model 61 was used to put a shot into the head of the deer and ended its struggle. So first day out, the 61 limited on squirrels, and put a deer out of its misery. I did that one time when a friend was bow hunting in the state of MD. Exact same situation. My friends brother dispatched the deer f...

I am going to watch that auction also. If it sells I am going to buy a bunch of 94's. That is a sub $250 rifle in my area. Definitely not worth $300 in my area. You can pick up Pre-64's for $450 or less around here. Especially one day after the end of deer season. Tom.

I cast a Lyman 405 grain bullet. But any good 405 cast bullet will do. Back it up with 40.0 grains of RL-7, and a good crimp. Works great for me. Although I could make a good case that 40.0 grains of RL-7 is more power than one needs for deer. Tom.
