AJ, maybe you are aware that the 308 and the 7.62x51 use different headspace gauges, and the 308 is often and most probably loaded to higher pressures in factory ammo than the 7.62x51 cartridge. I know there was a problem loading the higher than recomemded pressure 30-06 cartridge in the garand. I h...

Remember first seeing them 40 yrs ago in the U.K. Gas and bulk tankers used them on their trailers, then they were used on the driven axles on ridgid trucks. Drivers love them for off road and construction sites in the U.K. Advantages are, longer tire life, better fuel mileage, increased payload due...

Just measured a sampling of some new 356 brass. 0.058 rim thickness to 0.055 measuring around the circumference. Not exactly match quality. Re: A can of worms for you: Is a 30-06 fine, too?

Look into and study bullet B.C. You will then see why the 6.5 calibers are so popular. T acheive the BC's of the 6.5mm, you would need heavier/longer bullets in the 30 calibers. Also need more powder. All this leads to more recoil, making the gun harder to handle. This is why the 222 remington, 6mm ...

Just to clear up any confusion if there is any. Using my method, you actually use a live primer and fire it in an unloaded case. I have seen this on a few guns. Check the muzzle and the area around the forcing cone as well.
