steel wool is the gold standard for filling gaps, no need to foam it too, shove it in, both sides of the pipe if you can and poison the lil buggers....

Frankly, I'd clean it up best you can and leave it, it's all working. check the ugliest breakers if you want but I bet they're ok. Old boxes in damp cellars aren't usually pretty anyway....but as always YMMV

I have one of Paco's "whack a mole" tools, works great, My father left me a case of standard velocity target 22's, and I run them through Paco's tool... I also made a tool to modify 32 longs for a flat nose similar to what you showed, except I used a piece of hardened oak and a tight drill...

Had both hips and both knees done at the same time 5 years apart, so I'm an expert!, lol first week is tough, but do the therapy, take the pain pills, at least for the first week and PT days, do extra PT at home and ice after every session....you'll be surprised how quick it gets better, after my kn...

It gets better fast, first week after is a little rough....do the PT, and as much stretching as you can at home, the swelling will restrict that but you have to push through.I had bilateral knees done 2 years ago, if you have any questions don't hesitate.

My first qualification was with a stock, beat up police turn in... the armorer grabbed it out of a box full, gave it a few shakes and said "this one isn't too bad" Shot a perfect 300 with that clunker, lol The double action was smooth, you could feel the pause where it went to a single act...

A peep and bead is intuitive, especially for hunting, put bead on target squeeze trigger, it doesn't get easier than that... That said, maybe a blade front will get better long range accuracy with a 6 oclock hold, Just guessing,

any factory bullet loaded for 30-30 is safe, probably any lead tip bullet is fine too. Maybe a full jacket spitzer might be problematic, so just don't load the tube up with them.
I read once years ago that a detonation happened but didn't hurt anybody.

Basically agree, but with a solid rest and known drop table, 3,350 is very doable. variables being game movement, and especially wind... I would consider 350 is about the limit for an experienced shooter, but YMMV.

Here we have occasional hiccups, but the norm is decent service from all of them, I did notice lately as the old employees in USPS retire they're replaced with DEI hires, even in our small towns, I imagine in the hubs it's far worse. I had a security six that would bind up with just a little leading, the armorer said they had tighter tolerances than Smiths...bad when it happens during qualification, had to take a time out to sort it out.

I have my father's, non nickel though. I believe it's a later post war model. It's a very nice small revolver, completely useless for self defense, ( so the experts claim), but it was the service arm of the NYC police dept at one time... it's not a 45, but it's certainly capable.....

Took the Marsheild finish off my 336 years ago and treated it with BLO, much better, also took the white plastic spacers off . I think it looks much better and a dab of oil on your hand rubbed in keeps it purty..lol
