Definitely an excellent video. Well worth watching if you are going to be working on any Winchester lever action in my opinion. The whole anvil series of C&R arsenal is excellent and informative!

Thank you. I was wondering how I had missed Marlin producing a sans loading gate center fire model. Then again Winchesters are more my strong suit.

I have shot some 8mm mauser Privi Partisan with no issues that I attribute to ammo. The one issue that I have experienced I am pretty sure was the result of my mishandling the firing pin while doing my initial clean up of the rifle. Please post photos of the first 8 inches of the top of the barrel ahead of the reciever. This is usually marked with the caliber. Though given the rust shown in your photos the markings may be unreadable :(

Many years ago there was a local lawyer that was so ethical that while he had a Porsche he worked nights as a security guard to make ends meet. I kid you not I worked for the same guard company as he did. He didn't seem to be getting rich like his fellow lawyers. And he didn't seem to mind it!

Not to put too fine a point on it but the shooters weight figures into this as well. At least in offhand! The lighter you are the more you can absorb the recoil by being pushed back as opposed to being bruised. At least in my opinion. Man I have really gotta loose some weight!
