About 5 years ago I bought a very used 39a made in 1967. I have since put over 25,000 rounds thru it and it has never stuttered. I think maybe the idea of a bad run of firing pins may be correct, I know several people who shoot theirs as much or more than I do and have never heard of a broken firing...

I have Marbles tang sights on 4 different rifles. I use them for silhouette and wouldnt have any thing else. For a hunting rifle or for Cowboy Action shooting, it might be different.

Pretty rifle, congratulations. I shoot silhouette with mine and found the most accurate load for mine is 10 grains of Blue Dot with LaserCast 180 grain .431 bullet. Hope that helps.

If you can consistantly hit a pop can offhand at 100 yards that is pretty good grouping. I agree with most of the others, shooting groups from the bench is a good thing when you are testing ammo or getting sight settings. I bet you'll see the vultures that sell on Gunbroker, GunsAmerica, etc, to heist the prices of existing "pre-Remington" Marlin leverguns by 50-100% over the existing skyhigh scalping on those sites. This will happen within the next 90 days, wont take long. I am going to a gunshow two weeks...

I cant find that in my rule book, do you have page and paragraph? The only thing I can find is paragraph 3.1.3 (3) which says ammunition must be flat nosed suitable for tubular magazines which this bullet is, being a flat nosed design with a hollow point. I think maybe someone is picking a nit here....

Took the new-to-me Marlin 1894cl 32-20 to the local monthly NRA-approved Lever Action Silhouette match today, first time out with this rifle. Load was 8.5 Grains Lil Gun and Hornady 85 grain hollowpoints. About a 10-12 knot headwind and 45 degrees. Shot a 34 x 40 with 10 rams so I am a happy camper,...
