I have shown this Colt New Service 44-40 D.W. King's conversion before but here it is again. my Rossi 92 feeds .357 fine, but the same brand same weight bullet 38 loadings ( Magtech, 158 grs ) .38 specials seem to catch someting on the top edge or even inside of the chamber, and thus, partially in the chamber, jams. Or is it the lower chamber edge against the side of the case, and I don´t s...

Re: .44 - 40 Sixgun?
In the recent past I found a Ruger Vaquero in 44-40 and bought it. No, it's not a double action but a really nice single action revolver, case colored frame, which looks barely used. Keep your eye open for a Ruger. Price paid? $395.00 of course, I would buy Rugers and Ubertis with short barrels, to...

Re: .44 - 40 Sixgun?
Howdy No, it is not feasable to ream out a 44 Mag chamber to 44-40. Even though the base of the 44-40 is larger in diameter, the neck of the 44 Mag is larger in diameter. So if you reamed out the 44 Mag chamber you would have over size dimensions at the case mouth. Thank you, Sir! Although I have s...

Here in Central Europe we usually shoot only the Cocks!
If a Hen falls per accident or by the dogs, no biggie, but constantly shooting Hens will decrease the population, is the opinion here.

Again? Win 73 production beside the 92´s ...
Hello!
I am sure this has been discussed before, but can´t find just now:
why was the Winchester 73 produced for long along with the 92?
The 92 is lighter, sturdier, and takes heavier loads.
Still, the ´73 was produced ...
Why?
Thx in adance, Hermann

Go Hi Cap:
the most beautiful of all of them, the Dick Special, still has 6 rounds of .38´s.
Get the elder Versions, with the blade mainspring, but not the really old versions, with the unprotected ejector rod.

I have only 7 LA´s, so I hardly dare to speak here.
IMHO the round ones are definitely LIGHTER!
As I more carry them, with an occasional shot, in the woods, than shoot them hot on a range, I prefer round.

For warm, but not top Magnum loads ( not Deer or Javelina hunting, but plinking and self defense ) I used 158 grs Bullets and up to 7.5 grs VV N 340.
Much cleaner burning than Unique, nice metering, no fireballs.
Also 10.6 grs N 340, 240 grs bullets and the .44 Mag are a JOY!
