The shorter the bullet the slower it needs to spin for stability.
Muzzleloader roundball twist rates can be on the order of 1 in 66.

While nowhere near in the league with 86er, after 30 some years of hunting basically Moose and smaller size critters numbering somewhere just south of probably 100 I have only lost 2 animals.
