I've handled them and almost bought it. I decided to wait to see if they come out in 6.5 Grendel. That would make it a nice light weight deer rifle.

Malamute is correct. If you want to be sure rent some go an no gauges. I use the masking technique to just tell me if it is in a safe range.

I handled one this summer. I was impressed. But I would be more interested in one in 6.5 Grendel. That would be a great small package for deer. I will wait a few years and see if Henry adds more calibers

Great find. I have been keeping an eye out for one of those. I really wanted one of those when they can out but there was no funds. I have 3 1895s but they are all rifles, one Browning and 2 Winchesters.

I have the same gun and the barrel slugged at .313. I use .314 ,100 grain bullets with Tite group and it shoots great. I have other Ruger single sixes that slug at .312.

I am not sure what position that your trigger is stuck in. But I would start by removing the stock and taking out the hammer and trigger springs. You did not say if your action would open.

Nice score. That is my favorite deer rifle. Anchors deer nicely and the stock works well with the scope. I have an older Burris 2x7 x 32 on mine.

My friend rebarreled a Marlin 1894 44 Mag to 50 AE about 20 years ago. I am not sure if he had to do and modifications to the extractor. It functioned fine.

They offer those services in Wisconsin. They use thermo cameras and are still able to find a heat signature after 24 hours. They can tell by the heat signature if the animal is dead or alive. Lexol conditioner does not discolor leather and is my go to for maintaining leather. I like Black rock if I want it to shed water. I use that on all my saddles, it has a waxy coating.
