Fox at 22 yards? Either they have no concern about humans or you are undetectable by canines! :D Around here the rabbit population is just about nil. Lots of fox and Wiley Coyote's though. It's because I smell of rotting flesh, they can't help themselves! Thanks y'all and yes John. Numbers are down...

Re: Tristar folding shotgun

Personally I dislike the Italian folding single made by Pedretti and others. Many were made with blocks mated to high to the breach so firing pins struck the cap to low. The trigger block is made of cheese and the hammer spring is weak. Often the stocks break due to weak fixing to the action. Just ...

Re: Tristar folding shotgun

The Beretta folding S/B shotgun has been copied by several Italian gun makers, I have had a few over the years and still have a .410 made by Investarm. The Turks have modernized the design a little with synthetic stocks and multi chokes. If the quality is as good as the Italian models they would mak...

I first came here years ago when researching a load for my .45-120 Sharps and found a post written by KirkD. Stuck around because I was so impressed by not only the knowledge here, but the brotherhood. I'm hoping we don't lose that. We all need to remember that we are, unfortunately, part of a dyin...

Re: New Leveraction Yellow Boy, 45 Colt

When I bought the Yellow boy I thought those carbine sights were simple and and easy to use but in woodland and on dull days ( more common in the UK) I struggled with them, the gun was well made and a lot of fun although a bit heavy in .22 magnum but It shot tighter groups than my 9422M when the sun...

Re: New Leveraction Yellow Boy, 45 Colt

I had a Uberti Yellow boy in.22 magnum, the only thing I couldn't get on with was the carbine sights. My old eyes just weren't sharp enough to get a good sight picture unless it was a bright sunny day, the carbine however was very accurate on such days. I could have put a tang sight on it but I trad...

When I used to shoot on a military range we took in in turns to mark the targets, at 200 m we had quite a job telling when the target we were marking was hit with a .22lr but hit they were. Often three shooters would use one target so you might be watching for .303 maybe a .577 muzzle loader and occ...
