For this rifle I want either a tang sight, or one of those ladder rear sights. Or maybe no change. The rifle is a Marlin 93 30-30.

I am disgusted. I brought a .336 marlin 30-30 from a pawn shop. It would not work. It failed to fire. It would load and chamber but not fire. Maybe the firing pin or other bolt issues. Any of you have a suggestion how to deal with this?AT the range I hit the 300 yard gong with my 1932 Marlin 93 30-3...

Deer as a season game is becoming more a hobby of the rich. I am thankful to have had several years of hunting deer on some land owned by kin. Most of my shooting will be at the range. Time are changing. These not enough hunting for all the gun owners in the country.

MrMurphy as you say Simo Hayha did not use a M44. My mistake, but he did use some sort of Mosin rifle shorter than the 91/30 as depicted in his photo maybe an M28. "Mr. Häyhä stated that he used the Mosin Nagant M28 rifle as his "sniping" rifle; however, as there are photos showing Hä...

Practice at the range. Learn to shoot the rifle. Shoot off bench, kneeling, prone, etc. Put some one gal milk bottles at 100 yard and learn to hit them regularly. I think many hunter fail because of trying to learn their rifle at the hunting area. I have really made that mistake in the past. I now s...

30-30 best choice because of ability to reload wide range of velocities and bullets. You can load cast bullets at 357 mag velocity even with "trail-boss" powder down to 38 special power.

Yes;Leverguns for general bad times rifle, and with a 30-30 because you can load down for small game or to full power for deer and large game. Can use effectively cast or jacketed bullets. No semi-auto can have all that range of loads. I am thinking of a 30-30 as much more than just a fighting rifle...

Load book photo of page listing the cast bullet you mentioned.
I uses 26 or 29 gr. of RG4895 with the Lee cast 170 gr bullet with gas check. It works well but not at powerful as jacketed.
