Re: Bucket List Items

Yeah. I always searched for a true love, life mate. Found her in Nancy. 22 amazing years.
Bucket list filled.
Then she passed.
Now I have Ashley. Our love is the equal.
Bucket list filled.
I want for nothing.
Well, more range time….

My insurance will not pay for a vitamin D test. I do not store d well. 10 iu is my daily. I test at 80. Lugols iodine is my choice. I start by checking absorption on the bottom of my foot overnight. I Frankly, on light rifles, they work great, and are much better at dark or early morning, than the scopes with the straight tube 20mm. This is important. A 5 mm exit pupil is a good choice for light transmission. Those vx2 2-7x32 are great for light transmission. The eye relief is perfect for a le...

Such sights were common on most military carbines and rifles from the Civil War period on for some time....

Those sintered steel frames can be black oxide coated Brownells Oxynate 84 was especially for this. Winchester tried to plate them with iron then blue. And boy that plating was thin, thin, thin! I had one that I just used a little bit of rust remover and it just wiped the plating off. That Brownell...

I never really wanted to deal with all the paperwork, let alone the cost. 35 whelen ? My guess too. Lots of load data available. As long they’re a couple thou over bore diameter and the barrel is free of constrictions and not bell mouthed (muzzle diameter larger than breech) you can run them well past 1400 fps. I think an off balance bullet has just as much if not more affect on precision than time of flight. I think John Barsness has written of that in one of his Gun Gack books (excellent reading by the way). This from The Art Of Bullet Casting From Handloader and Rifle magazines, 1966-1981 IMG_1330.jpeg
