Just got off the phone with Hodgdon. The tech said it would take a six foot barrel to capture all the burning kernels. The powder absolutely continues to burn outside the case.

I’m a die hard 4” k-frame Smith guy. IMO the 4” carries exactly like the 3”. That extra inch down the leg is insignificant. The Ruger is a bit shorter in the butt but once you’re out of the pocket what’s the difference? I like my Rugers but a 4” Smith mag (or .22 k) is the shizzle for me.

that's true for rifle or other high pressure rounds with the type of loads I use in .380, but it is not true of .380 because it doesn't have enough gas to get that done. a plethora of factors at play. He faulted the lead for shedding but it looked to me like it was not excessive. Some of the best performing law enforcement rounds shed pieces. 9BPLE comes to mind.

Meet Finley.
10 weeks old. 15# Welsh Springer Spaniel from Trystyn WSS in Chelsea, MI.
Picked him up Saturday. Life has taken a change!
He slept through the night last night. Only a couple of puddles and they were my fault not being quick enough to have my boots on.

I did my own penetration tests and while bone and layers of denim affected expansion, penetration was always excellent. Shot placement is always key no matter what you carry.
